McLaren Greater Lansing’s Wound Care Center Recognized with National Award for Excellence in Wound Healing

McLaren Greater Lansing’s Wound Care Center has been awarded the prestigious Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Clinical Excellence Award by Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. This Center has scored in the top 10 percent of eligible Healogics® Wound Care Centers® on the Clinical Excellence measure, which is the comprehensive healing rate weighted by wound mix. This award is named after Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

“Receiving this award for Clinical Excellence is a testimony to the skill and dedication of our staff and providers,” said Mark Jones, general surgeon and medical director for the McLaren Greater Lansing Wound Care Center. “We provide the highest quality and most comprehensive care for virtually all types of chronic and refractory wounds, including those that are extremely complex.”

The McLaren Greater Lansing Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics network of over 600 Wound Care Centers® and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds.

“The clinic is staffed with various specialized surgeons including general, vascular, and podiatry. All have extensive experience in treating chronic wounds,” said Dr. Jones.

Advanced wound care modalities provided at the clinic include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, surgical interventions, and growth factor therapies.

McLaren Greater Lansing Wound Care Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which is a safe alternative therapy that uses the power of pressurized oxygen to stimulate the body’s innate healing process and address the different ways that diabetes and other chronic diseases automatically suppress your immune system. It provides oxygen at high pressure and keeps the tissues alive while the antibiotics work. It’s a thoroughly tested, FDA-approved, completely safe, and painless therapy that has helped thousands of patients heal faster and better than ever before.
